Heartland Dragons Minor Bantam Red Team 82; London Jan. 19th to Jan. 21st 2018. West London Byron Optimist Competitive Tournament CHAMPS! After finishing the round robin with a record of 3 wins and 1 loss, the Dragons won their semifinal game against the Erindale Spitfires on their way to a spirited 4-2 final game victory over Chedoke Express to capture the GOLD Medal. Congratulations to the players, coaches, and parents!
After going 3-0-1 for first place in the Round Robin playing Ted Reeve, LPC #80, West London Hawks, and Heartland Dragons #80. We advanced to the finals and played the Kitchener Jr Rangers to a 1-0 shootout win. Nothing was solved after 3 periods, followed by 5 minutes of 4-4 OT with a 0-0 score. Then winning in the first round of a three-person shootout. Great hockey, and bonding time for the kids. Way to go Dragons!! Congratulations!
The Heartland Dragons Midget Jr 'A' made their annual bus trip to the USA and competed in the Nov 24-26 Congressional Cup Thanksgiving Classic in Washington DC. The boys competed in the 18U A division. The boys won the tournament with a 5-1 final against the Piedmont Predators from Virginia. The boys played strong all weekend winning all games and outscoring their competitors 28-2 on the way to winning the tournament. Congrats to the kids, coaches, staff and supporting families.
The Heartland Dragons Midget Team #113 played four consecutive games to take home the GOLD in Ingersoll Ontario. This house league tournament was dominated by our Dragons with 3 - 1, 10 - 1 and 5 - 1 wins to reach the finals. The final game was a fierce 5 - 0 win for our champs! "The Bantam A Heartland Dragons were a team of Destiny this weekend. Everybody says that but, we’ve got proof. It all began with a Friday afternoon tour of the Bell Centre, the home of the glorious Montreal Canadiens. While up in the alumni lounge #19 Josh “Captain America” Young dropped himself into an empty seat. The tour guide Zee says "since Jean Beliveau died, nobody sits right there, eh.” Captain America stared at Zee. The Sr Dragons traveled to Pittsburgh this past weekend to participate in the Three Rivers Cup Tournament. They were undefeated in 5 games, outscoring their opponents 33-3, including 3 shutouts, on their way to winning the tournament in a dominant fashion, Congratulations to a great bunch of boys!
September 18, 2017 - It was a full house at the Mississauga Valley Community Centre for the inaugural game of the new Heartland Dragons Hockey Association. The Opening Ceremony of the very first Mississauga Hockey League game for the Heartland Dragons was commemorated with a ceremonial puck drop followed by a graceful rendition of our national anthem by Mileena Sobreira-Yousufy. Midget Jr 'A' won the Hillcrest Tournament this weekend with a 4-1 final against Lorne Park. The boys dropped the first game of the tourney 1-0, but after that they won 5 straight games, outscoring their competitors 21-3 on the way to winning the tournament.
