Midget Jr 'A' won the Hillcrest Tournament this weekend with a 4-1 final against Lorne Park. The boys dropped the first game of the tourney 1-0, but after that they won 5 straight games, outscoring their competitors 21-3 on the way to winning the tournament. Congrats to the kids, coaches, staff and supporting parents!

The Heartland Dragons Minor Bantam A #81 put their best foot forward for the West Mall Early Bird Tourney this past weekend. A tough 2-0 loss to a fantastic Wolverine team brought them a well-deserved silver medal! The Bantam A Phantom Wolves finished off a special season by winning the CITY Championships!!! They beat the solid GTHL Champions, Toronto Avalanche, 2 games to 1 winning the final game 5-1 The Wolves started their season by playing in 2 early bird tournaments on back to back weekends, winning the first one and placing second in the other. The Mississauga Hockey League’s newest community Association officially launched April 1, 2017. The Heartland Dragons Hockey Association will provide minor hockey development and competition for boys and girls 4 to 20 years of age. The Association will be based out of Mississauga’s Hershey Centre and Valley Community Centre and will begin accepting player registrations for all ages and all levels of House League play beginning May 2017. Congratulations! Our Novice Gold team won the 2017 Bryon Optimist Competitive Tournament in London, Ontario. The team went 6-0 in the tournament to place first in the pool. They faced off against the London team in the semi-final and won 5-0. The Championship game vs. Humber Valley had a rocky start (down 3-0), but the team fought back in the 3rd period and with 41 seconds left scored to make it a one goal game. Congratulations! Our Minor Bantam Red team won the Streetsville Christmas classic. A record of 2 and 1 in the round robin gained them a spot in the final where the Acton Chargers scored on the power play midway through the third period to take a 1-0 lead. Our Phantoms tied the game with 2 minutes left in regulation sending it to overtime. Overtime was 4 on 4 sudden death where they scored the winner 4 minutes in. A huge win for the team, and everyone played excellent!
Congratulations! Our Bantam "A" team had their third tournament win this season in Montreal. With a tie in the final game going to a shoot out, Brian Rodriguez scored the winning goal while Mark Anthony Furtado posted a shut out. Nick Krawiec was named tournament MVP. Coach Bill Creamer said this one was especially nice as they beat two highly ranked teams from Barrie and North Toronto.
