HD Minor Midget A Dragons West Mall Tournament CHAMPS!

Heartland’s Minor Midget A Dragons participated in the west mall early bird tournament for the 4th year in a row. We won our third championship out of 4 years. Apart from defeating York Mill 3-2 in the final, the highlight was our 1-0 win over MHL rivals PC in the semis. Along with being a very well coached team Port credit is also the 2017-2018 MHL league champs. Thank you to our players, their families, coaching staff and west mall for a terrific tournament.

After going 3-0-1 for first place in the Round Robin playing Ted Reeve, LPC #80, West London Hawks, and Heartland Dragons #80.  We advanced to the finals and played the Kitchener Jr Rangers to a 1-0 shootout win.  Nothing was solved after 3 periods, followed by 5 minutes of 4-4 OT with a 0-0 score.   Then winning in the first round of a three-person shootout.  Great hockey, and bonding time for the kids.  Way to go Dragons!!  Congratulations!

Midget Jr. A Dragons are CHAMPS in Washington DC Congressional Cup!

The Heartland Dragons Midget Jr 'A' made their annual bus trip to the USA and competed in the Nov 24-26 Congressional Cup Thanksgiving Classic in Washington DC.  The boys competed in the 18U A division.  The boys won the tournament with a 5-1 final against the Piedmont Predators from Virginia. The boys played strong all weekend winning all games and outscoring their competitors 28-2 on the way to winning the tournament. Congrats to the kids, coaches, staff and supporting families.

Bantam A Champs in Montreal at Quebec Canadian Cup Nov. 17-19

"The Bantam A Heartland Dragons were a team of Destiny this weekend. Everybody says that but, we’ve got proof. It all began with a Friday afternoon tour of the Bell Centre, the home of the glorious Montreal Canadiens. While up in the alumni lounge #19 Josh “Captain America” Young dropped himself into an empty seat.  The tour guide Zee says "since Jean Beliveau died, nobody sits right there, eh.” Captain America stared at Zee.  Zee stared at Captain America, knowing he wasn’t going to win this one.  2 hours later, to kick off the prestigious Jean Beliveau Bantam Championship in Montreal, the Ted Reeve Thundernadoes knew [...]
