The Sr Dragons traveled to Pittsburgh this past weekend to participate in the Three Rivers Cup Tournament. They were undefeated in 5 games, outscoring their opponents 33-3, including 3 shutouts, on their way to winning the tournament in a dominant fashion, Congratulations to a great bunch of boys!
Midget Jr 'A' won the Hillcrest Tournament this weekend with a 4-1 final against Lorne Park. The boys dropped the first game of the tourney 1-0, but after that they won 5 straight games, outscoring their competitors 21-3 on the way to winning the tournament. Congrats to the kids, coaches, staff and supporting parents!
Heartland Dragons Midget A team 111 wins Toronto Aces/Michael Hutton Tournament. Great team effort allowing only 6 goals against in 5 games while scoring 13 goals for.
The Heartland Dragons Minor Bantam A #81 put their best foot forward for the West Mall Early Bird Tourney this past weekend. A tough 2-0 loss to a fantastic Wolverine team brought them a well-deserved silver medal! The coaches and parents congratulate the boys and girls on #81 for their perseverance, tenacity, and sportsmanship…looking forward to a great season!
Congratulations! Our Novice Gold team won the 2017 Bryon Optimist Competitive Tournament in London, Ontario. The team went 6-0 in the tournament to place first in the pool. They faced off against the London team in the semi-final and won 5-0. The Championship game vs. Humber Valley had a rocky start (down 3-0), but the team fought back in the 3rd period and with 41 seconds left scored to make it a one goal game. Congratulations! Our Minor Bantam Red team won the Streetsville Christmas classic. A record of 2 and 1 in the round robin gained them a spot in the final where the Acton Chargers scored on the power play midway through the third period to take a 1-0 lead. Our Phantoms tied the game with 2 minutes left in regulation sending it to overtime. Overtime was 4 on 4 sudden death where they scored the winner 4 minutes in. A huge win for the team, and everyone played excellent!
Congratulations! Our Bantam "A" team had their third tournament win this season in Montreal. With a tie in the final game going to a shoot out, Brian Rodriguez scored the winning goal while Mark Anthony Furtado posted a shut out. Nick Krawiec was named tournament MVP. Coach Bill Creamer said this one was especially nice as they beat two highly ranked teams from Barrie and North Toronto.
Congratulations! To our Bantam "A" team for their Wolverines Tournament win. The boys won 3-1 against a very strong York Mills team in the final. During the tournament, the team allowed only 2 goals against in 5 games, another stellar performance!
Congratulations! To our Bantam Red team for winning the Gold in the 41st Annual Woolwich Wildcat Tournament Red Division. Playing their fifth game in three days, with only a three and a half hour break in between the semis and the final, the boys were exhausted and it showed on the ice as they were out-played for most of the 1st period but still coming out tied 0-0 thanks to the awesome performance from their goalie and MVP of the game, Conrad Gardner. Congratulations! Our Atom "A" (Maroon) was involved in the Toronto Wolverines Fall Classic Tournament. The team won their first game 6-0 over the Toronto Eagles and their second game against the West Hill Golden Hawks 6-1. The following day the team won their 3rd game against the Toronto Wolverines 6-2. The round robin was completed on Sunday morning with a great effort against the Humber Valley Sharks where they unfortunately lost 3-2.
