We are looking forward to the start of the 2021-2022 hockey season and are excited to soon be seeing all of your smiling faces at the rink.
In the past couple of weeks we have started to see some very positive direction and planning from the Province’s reopening and Return to Play for indoor sports.
On May 20th, 2021, the Ontario government revealed a three-step Provincial Reopening Plan. In Stage 3 it is projected that all indoor sports leagues will be able to resume team play with possible restrictions.
Currently within the Step 3 Reopening plan, no specific details are provided about possible restrictions that may be implemented regarding the return of indoor sports. As information becomes available updates will be provided and posted on the Heartland Dragons website.
We are currently unable to give an exact definition on how exactly the 2021-2022 hockey season is going to look. The Heartland Dragons are 100% committed to maintaining all of its hockey programs for the 2021-2022 season, barring any setbacks on the implementation of the Step 3 Reopening plan.
We are extremely optimistic about a full return to a traditional hockey game and practice format. We are however being cautious in our program planning and development having experienced various changes with the Covid planning strategies and implementation changes over the past fourteen months. We are also working on the development of a hockey structure program that can easily be interchangeable, between traditional game play models depending on any possible Step 3 Covid restrictions or parameters implemented for the 2021-2022 hockey season.
2021-2022 Player Registration OPEN AUGUST 1ST 2021
The Hockey Canada Registration (HCR.03) is undergoing implementation changes. It is currently project that new system will be able start accepting registrations AUGUST 1ST 2021, barring any further HCR system enhancements.
We are all ready and prepared to get our hockey season registrations up and running and registering for the Heartland Dragons 2021-2022 season on AUGUST 1st.
