Game On
The Heartland Dragons Hockey Association is pleased to announce that in alignment with Hockey Canada, the GTHL, and the MHL, a “Return to Hockey Plan” has been completed and approved effective September 1, 2020. We have attached a copy for your review.
The “Game Plan” is a fluid living document and process which will continue to evolve rapidly through this pandemic. The intent of the plan is to create a safe and meaningful return to hockey. As the season evolves, our ability to provide a positive hockey experience will be a key factor in the growth and development of this great game, our players, parents, volunteers and our organization.
At this point we are in the Warm-Up stage of the plan. On ice activity (Period 1) is expected to start in October. We have attached page 25 of the Game Plan; a quick simple reference chart of what to expect in each Period of the plan.

Registration
Registration is open and will remain open until further notice. We encourage those that have yet to register to do so immediately to ensure placement on a team as team sizes will be limited according to the Game Plan. We will begin forming House League teams the week September 21, 2020 and registrations after that date will not be assured of a spot on a team and will be placed on teams where possible.
The MHL and it’s affiliated organizations have agreed to revise the deposit fee for the 2020-2021 to $250 effective immediately. Players that have already submitted the original deposit fee of $50 will be required to submit the balance deposit of $200 by September 28, 2020.
Registration fees for the 2020-2021 season are posted on the website. Final pricing will not exceed the pricing provided at this time but may be reduced as the situation unfolds. You will be notified by email when the final pricing for the season is posted.
For those players that are not looking to participate in the 2020-2021 hockey season, the final date to request your deposit back is September 18, 2020. Any refund requests after this date will not be considered. Should hockey be cancelled as a result of an escalation of pandemic requirements, refunds will be made on a pro rata basis.
Refund Policy – Updated
As a result of the delay in the start of the 2020-2021 hockey season, our refund policy has been updated (please see our website for complete details) as follows:
- Request emailed up to September 18th Deposit fully refunded.
- Request emailed after September 18th No Refund.
Payment of Registration Fees
As a result of the delay in the start of the 2020-2021 hockey season, due dates for registration fee payments will be as follows:
a) September 28th Balance of Deposit Fee to a total of $250.
b) October 31st Half of the balance remaining on applicable Registration Fee.
c) November 30th Balance Remaining on applicable Registration Fee subject to any
