We are excited to continue our High School Volunteer Program this season, assisting our high school aged players with earning Community Service Hours towards their High School Diplomas! All high school students (Grades 9-12) in the province of Ontario are required to complete 40 hours of community service as a graduation requirement. This requirement helps young people develop new skills while encouraging them to develop an awareness and understanding of civic responsibility as they play a role in contributing and strengthening their communities. HOKEH is the Heartland Dragons Hockey Association’s (HDHA) newest effort to reduce the cost of hockey equipment for players registered in the association’s House League Program. The Hockey Canada Foundation Assist Fund was created in response to the many families experiencing financial challenges. The goal of the Fund is to help Canadian youth access hockey and play the game they love. The Assist Fund will provide up to $500 per player in registration fee subsidies to approved applicants who are registered with a Hockey Canada-sanctioned association.
