Coaching Philosophy: The foundation of success is based on skill development first and foremost.
Practices are critical to success as this is where most development will occur.
Hockey IQ and an understanding of all facets of the game is the priority, once that foundation is set the rest of their hockey success will be based on their desire and execution.
Team play, respect and work ethic is the foundation of the program.
Equal playing time is the mandate and development is the focus.
I look for families and children that make hockey the priority during the season with the desire to have as many kids as possible move up from Red to A, AA and AAA.
Commitment is CRITICAL – attendance at games and practices a must
Time Commitment: 2 practices for a minimum of 2.5-3 hrs per week.
Practices will be during the week with the majority of the games on the weekend
Average of 1.5 games per week (1 game 1 week, 2 games the next)
tournaments (One will be a travel tournament)
expectation is to arrive 45 minutes before games to allow for a warm up
Team Focus: Respect for teammates, officials, parents and school with a high level of sportsmanship.
To understand the importance of commitment, work ethic and appreciation for all the game gives us.

U16 – Head Coach: MIKE MITCHELL
- Cool, calm, and collected, Coach Mike is set to bring a chill to the competition. Known for his ice-cold precision and strategic brilliance, Mike will guide our players through the nuances of the game. Expect a season filled with progressive plays and unmatched finesse
With over 30 years of coaching experience at the A, AA, and AAA levels, I have developed a strong support staff consisting of former players I have coached for many years, along with a dedicated goalie instructor.
I firmly believe that the foundation of a strong work ethic lies in effective, well-organized practices. Over the years, we have successfully built confidence and bravery through proper training. Our practices, held twice a week for 1.5 hours each, focus on skating, skills/team development, and endurance.
The season begins with a two-week training camp to prepare for the upcoming season and our first tournament. We plan to organize three tournaments and a series of exhibition games throughout the season.
My goal is to instill confidence in youth, which they can apply to sports, school, and life decisions.
I believe in staying current and constantly upgrading my skills and practices. This is why I surround myself with a mix of younger and more experienced staff.
We are committed to working hard together to build confidence and create a team that never gives up.
Team budget to be determined
Mike
