We are almost ready for the start of our 2021 -22 Hockey season and we are so grateful to Canadian
Tire Jumpstart Charities, for helping to make it possible!
Because of Jumpstart’s funding we were able to offer free protective equipment kits to our first
time Jr. Dragons players again this season. This additional funding allowed us to provide more free
equipment kits than ever before!
We were also able to provide subsidized spots to sixty (60) families in our brand new HOKEH (Help
Our Kids Enjoy Hockey) Equipment program, created to assist families struggling with the impacts of
COVID and the high cost of hockey.
As part of the HOKEH equipment program the Heartland Dragons Hockey Association provides new and/or
gently used equipment which may include a Helmet, Shoulder Pads, Elbow Pads, Pants, Shin Pads,
Skates and/or Stick depending on the needs of each player and available equipment on hand.

our son. Without the program, we don’t know if we could continue to enrol our son in hockey given

Receiving the grant from Jumpstart has allowed the Heartland Dragons Hockey Association to move a
step closer towards our goal of making hockey accessible to more families and members of our
community.
